Public Mirror serves read-only copies of publicly available archives, together with the checksum and signature files published alongside them, so that any download can be verified locally after transfer. Contents are pulled from upstream sources every few hours and moved into place only once a full pass has completed, which means an individual directory may briefly lag behind its origin during a sync window. A per-client rate limit applies so the mirror stays usable for everyone: requests beyond that limit are queued for a short period and then refused, and large recursive copies should be scheduled outside peak hours.
